POSITION:  Vice-Principal - Magowan Elementary School 10 month position (Posted on 8/2/2019)

The Edgewater Park Township School District is seeking an inspirational and dynamic leader to serve as Vice-Principal at the Mildred Magowan Elementary School, effective October 1, 2019. The Vice-Principal will assist the Principal in the planning and implementation of curriculum and instruction to its 550 students and 120 staff in grades Pre-K through four. Additionally, he/she will oversee all aspects of the Preschool program and student discipline. Salary is negotiable, based on experience and qualifications, with a minimum salary of $70,000 plus benefits.

Qualifications:
  • Must have a valid NJ Principal certification and a valid NJ P-3 certification
  • Elementary teaching and English Language Arts teaching experience preferred
  • Administrative experience preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership in curriculum, instruction, technology, and team building
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Restorative Practices and integrating SEL in school practices preferred
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to engage in positive relationships with staff, parents, students, and community
  • School budgeting experience preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations affecting education
  • Detailed ability to analyze and use multiple forms of assessment data to improve student achievement
  • Creative ability to define problems, collect data, draw valid conclusions and implement effective strategies
  • Understands the value of diversity and equity in education

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum Substitute Certificate Required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
2. Must be a NJ Resident under NJ First Act
3. Must pass required criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or resident alien status
4. Experience in a like position preferred.

JOB GOAL AND/OR PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This employee is responsible for reviewing student discipline referrals,
implementing and supporting the Code of Conduct, communicating with
administration, teacher, parent, and student regarding infractions, restricted list
status, and consequences. Additionally, this employee is responsible to support the
generating and implementing of programs to remediate behavioral and social
problems for students with repeated discipline referrals. He/she is available for
consultation to staff and parents.

SALARY: 
Minimum starting salary of $30,000 per year, negotiable and dependent on
experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, 10-month position with benefits.

Food Service Worker:  Nutri-Serve is hiring for substitute positions for the kitchen. Hours vary between 8:00-2:00.  Pay rate: $9.00 per hour. You must get fingerprinted to work.

Edgewater Park is hiring substitute teachers.    All substitute teachers need a NJ teacher certificate or  Substitute certificate. 

If you do not hold  NJ State Certification, we will assist you in applying for County Certification (fee - $125 and official transcripts proving 60 college credits). 

Everyone who works in the school system needs to be fingerprinted which will cost $65.45 plus an $11 administrative processing fee to the State of New Jersey.  Substitute salary is $90/per diem.   YOU MUST COME IN TO THE SUPERINTENDENT'S OFFICE TO APPLY.
