Speech Pathologist

What is a speech pathologist?

According to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), a Speech Language Pathologist works with the full range of human communication and its disorders. We evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages, from infants to the elderly. In the public school setting, we primarily work with children in the areas of articulation, phonology, language, fluency, phonological awareness, auditory processing, and social language.
